I recently sent mail to hotline about portnoy's console flooding with errors
of the form "short write -1 400".
At some point at least half an hour after the errors started flooding, they
stopped, followed immediately by the error message:
"WARNING: audio_4321_initlist: dma_list not cleared"
Many times in the past, while logged in normally to portnoy, I have noticed
this warning (or a similar one) echoed to my X console sporadically (maybe
once or twice every few hours), at times when I was not actively doing
anything with the machine's audio device.
I don't have any idea what this means.
