PROBLEM WITH THEMIS (11-135)

We have encountered a hardware problem this evening at approx. 22:00 hrs or so.
Dave K. and Richard B. are currently working on the problem.
Here is whats happening to date:
A controller error, and several unreadable block error messages were displayed.
These messages pertained to (what is now labeled drive 1) It is the top RA82
in the upper right locale. It looks like Dave and Richard will be successfull
in moving information/files around in order to restore service this machine.
The important part of this failure is that many papers are due today 12/7/90.
The hotline (1410) phone is jumping of the hook with many concerned students.

The bottom line of this situation will be as follows:
Dave K. will contact Anne Salemme early in the a.m. on Friday 12/7/90 to
make a decision on when she may think DEC field service should be called in
to work on this problem.

Here is the vital hardware information needed for placing the call.
THEMIS is the name. LOCATED in 11-135. MODEL 650QF-B2    S/N  WF85005286
                                       DRIVE 1 (RA82)
                                       CONTROLLER ERRORS WERE DISPLAYED.
                                       SEVERAL UNREADABLE BLOCK ERROR MESSAGES
                                       WERE DISPLAYED.
