I am not sure this is the right place to report this, but here goes.

This machine is a Sun, with a new keyboard. The backspace key is in
the "right" place, in the top right section of the keybooard, as
opposed to beneath the tilde. The keyboard looks just like an IBM
keyboard with the extra Sun keys on the left hand side.

The problem is the backspace key does not work inside emacs, it gives
me a ctrl-h, and i keep getting stuck in help. I do not rebind
backspace in my .emacs.

Another interesting feature is that the Alt key does not work outside
my emacs window. It is set by my windowmanager (vtwm.gamma) to
move windows around in conjuction with a mouse button. The diamond
keys next to the spacebar and the Compose key work fine inside and
outside emacs as Meta.
