Brian and Loarrine had reported that the above location was very warm. I had
once again worked with P.P. on this issue. P.P. was able to bring the temp.
back down to a comfortable 72 degrees by changing the differential of the
chilled water at the Plant. Now, this has happened in the past at several
other locations, and I believe that this has to do with P.P's environmental
controls. In other words, P.P. thinks that on Friday evenings, most people
go home. This is true for office people, but Labs are working, Athena Cluster
areas are open 24 hrs a day around the clock. I believe that things are
shifted into 'auto' by P.P's computer in order to save money. I also believe
that the person that controls this is Carl Hagge of P.P.
Based on previous experience, what happens is follows: A complaint comes in
about excessive heat. The problem is usualy rectified by upping the chilled
water differential, which in turn cools the affected area down. This will
keep the customer satisfied for about a week. Then guess what? this happens
all ove again. This issue needs to be addressed to the head of P.P. and adjust-
ments should be made avoiding these repeat calls.
                                                Thanks,
                                                      --Lou
