machine crash?

The machine I was on lost contact with the server. I'm not sure if I was able to
logout or not because as I was trying to edit one of my files in framemaker at
another station, I got a message that the file was locked for use by another
user (myself) at the first station. Currently that station displays the
following:
dm: unable to start xlogin
...
afs: volume location server 18.86.0.28 in cell dev.mit.edu is backup
Any ideas? Am I logged off the first station?
