I was there. The fire set off alarms at around 10:30.
After a great deal of partial and misinformation, I
found out that the fire was in either a dumpster or
a trash container in the basement. It was most
probably due to a lit cigarette butt having been tossed
into said container.
The reason the MCC was affected is that they took on
a lot of water in the course of the FD putting out the
fire. I saw Marion from the MCC there last night; she
had been called in to check out the inventory.
The building was closed until around 2AM to permit the
smoke to clear. I was among the first back into the
building. I didn't go into the basement but found the
building none the worse for wear but rather smelly.
Power was never lost though there was some concern about
this near the beginning as the water was getting near
the transformer room.
