Hi JJ, John, & Co.,

When I hit the problems I wrote to you about, I RE-RAN solaris_reconf to
rename the machine to be BLOCK. It seemed to work just fine.

At this time I am in the last hours of a mad dash to finish a course
(before noon) -- and I am successfully BLOCK (as it is) as part of this
project.

This is just a note asking you to PLEASE don't do anything at all to
BLOCK until I'm done. I should be done and BLOCK should be free early
this afternoon.

When I am done and the machine is free, I will leave a dummy entry in
the /etc/passwd file, for a user named "I.M.DoneNow" or something like
that.

This way, if I'm not around (and I might not be) all you have to do is
check for that entry, whether I'm here or not.

(The root passwd on BLOCK is still the cluster standard one.)

Will that be okay?

-- Gary
