Fingerprint printing problem

I checked the toner and noticed a trail of black residue on one side of the
toner roller. Since it was close to 8000 pages since the last replacement
I replaced it with a new one even though the printer wasn't reporting low
toner. I also cleaned out a little dust inside the printer.

It appears to be printing fine now, although I notice some small specks of
ink being printed still. I wonder if the problem is going to occur again
soon. In the printer, the silver roller next to the transfer roller had
a bit of dried ink on it that I don't remember seeing before. I don't know
whether this hints at a problem related to the printer rather than toner.
If anyone knows what else I might want to specifically check for then I'd
appreciate the input.
