Speaker rtsys corruption

The rtsys pack on Speaker is corrupt. Speaker wasn't in use (it was
the w20 hot spare) until a few days ago. Since it came into active
service, we've received various complaints, summarized best by Beth
Kevles' message earlier today with the subject "Wierd EZ on the W20 RT
packs."
We need to shut down RVD service from Speaker to re-copy the rtsys
pack. In order to minimize the effect of the shutdown, I plan to do
it late tonight (early Friday morning). I'm sending the following
message with "zwrite -f speaker" to warn the users of the problems
they will have if they try to use ez. I plan to send a followup
message to you all and to cfyi when I'm done with the cleanup.

Your RVD server, which serves all the IBM RT workstations in the back
room of the Student Center Athena cluster, is having system trouble.
To avoid interrupting service, we'll wait until late tonight to shut
the server down and perform software repairs.
In the meantime, note that the "ez" program will probably not work
properly on any of the affected workstations. If you use ez, you
may want to move to one of the other two rooms to continue your
work, or wait until tomorrow to use ez.
