I believe you're talking about the wall phone which Ron installed this
summer. The hook switch on it is flakey, and by playing with it you
can usually manage to make it work. This is a short-term remedy, but
I agree whe should have some non-flakey phone access in e40-008.
Maybe there's hook-switch support which can just be bent back?
I haven't looked inside the case.
