Hi Barbara-
This morning there was a network problem involving 11-135, when
Brian, Tim and myself went to investigate we found the primary
A/C unit to be making some not to healthy sounds. I shutdown
the primary and the 2ndary kicked in automatically as it should
have. I contacted Physical Plant 3-1500 to have someone from
HVAC come over ASAP and they Tom showed up in approx 1/2hr.
Tom found that the the shaft was warped and the bearings that
it rides on were also blown. Tom started work on this system
and at that time I left. A consultant called 1410 to complain
about the noise and I explained that the parts had to be removed
and sent to the machine shop for repairs and most likely the
2ndary unit would be running untill this was completed, sometime
at the end of the week. Another consultant Jacob called to report
the awfull smell and I contacted Tom in the machine rm to find
out what was going on. Tom informed me he was useing a degreaser
and I asked him to go into the consultants rm to let the consultants
know what was going on.
I had sent mail and cc'd Carla about the above but there was a
problem with PO8 today so she didn't receive my first mail untill
1hr? after it was sent.
I believe the work will be going on today to remove the parts and
have them repaired and then work will restart later in the week,
so it will not be an going on continuously.
I appoligize for the inconvience and will do my best to make sure
the consultants are not bothered any more than necessary.
Please send me the mailing list that should be notified for future
reference.
Thanks
JJ
