Sun just delivered three Sparc 5s to our computer room, and I'd like
to have them converted into Athena machines. I was told by John Chase
to contact you.

While I'll be the primary contact for the installation, David Rho will
handle the billing.

The boxes are currently in room 35-217. Two will be installed in
35-217, and one will be installed in room 35-404. There are adequate
network drops available in both locations, since these machines are
replacing some old Vax 3100s. Of course, we will need new network
addresses.

What security devices do you recommend for Sparc 5s?

There may be a problem with the configuration I ordered from Sun.
The machines are 85 MHz Sparc 5s with 1 Gb of hard disk, 32 Mb of RAM,
and 20" monitors. But they do not have a floppy drive or a CD-ROM.
I'd like to know as soon as possible if I need to order CD-ROMs or
floppy drives for these machines.

Finally, I understand that you prefer to configure machines in one of
your buildings and then move the machines to their final home. I'd be
happy to deliver the CPUs and keyboards to whatever place you want,
but moving the 20" monitors is difficult. It might make sense to
leave them in 35-217.

Please let me know if you need any more information.

- Mitch (x32359)
