trouble with workstation

sorry if you already got this email, but I had some trouble sending it the
first time, so I thought I'd send it again just in case...
I was logged into the DEC5000/25, M38-370-12, and after being logged in for
about five minutes I lost use of the keyboard and mouse.
I checked all the relevant connections and after a long talk with an olc
consultant decided to power down the machine.
I could not reboot the machine from the keyboard (obviously).
