It seems that the boot monitor variables were set incorrectly. I
reset them so that it should boot when powercycled, and it seems
fine now.

Charon hung today completely, pings did not work etc..
the screen was blank...
I rebooted it, and it failed, so I powercycled it, and
it still refused to find a root unix image (vmunix).. this is
BAD(tm), and probably implies that we need the internal drive replaced/
fixed...
Last backups of charon haven't happened for about a week or two...
