The DEC 3100 "lightning-bug.MIT.EDU" in Room 48-016 has a major
problem.
As I was typing, the machine froze up. I tried rebooting by pushing
the reset button in the rear of the machine, but nothing happened. I
turned the machine off, waited, and then started it up again. Nothing
happened. The screen went white and blank. Something is definitely
wrong.
This machine has had other problems recently (software had to be
reinstalled by you a week ago). I am pretty sure that no one has been
messing with the stuff on the hard disk (I am the most frequent user,
and not many in our lab even have an idea of how to modify the
software).
Computer time is coveted in our lab. Please come and have a look at
this machine.
