Hi Cluster Support People,
Miki and I have been setting up another Sun install server, and she
showed me how to make install diskettes for 7.7 installs. So, here's
what I'd like to do so that you all know what's going on:
- next week, if any of you have to do Sun installs, please let
me know, so I can give you a new diskette and explain its use
(I'll make a new floppy diskette for each of you).
- I'll come to your meeting next Thurdsay so we can talk about
Sun installs:
basically, at some point Helios will go away completely
for now, you can use 'solar' to install 7.6 directly, and
'solar2' to install 7.7 directly [but, let's talk about
this first...it's confusing!]
the procedure for making boot floppies is slightly different
the new boot floppies are better about prompting for
default values
