Hi Connie,
1. My objectives for this week have all been met.
2. My accomplishments for this week ar as follows:
A). Several Toner Kits have been installed in various LNO3 printers
by JJmorey and myself.
B). Several Maint.Kits have also been installed by JJmorey and
myself on various LNO3 printers.
C). A few severe jams have been cleared on LNO3 printers, thus
restoring immediate printer operation to the user community.
D). JJmorey and myself have brought many workstations, of various
kinds, back to life by running diag's, rqbads, rebooting, fsck,
power cycling, reseating cpu power cords at the wall a.c.
outlets, resetting circuit breakers, formatting hard disks,
and loading software.
E). Worked with Dave Towle, in regards to taking hardware
inventory at various locations.
F). Have interacted with Physical Plant on several minor issues.
G). Have interacted with Campus Police on a few minor issues.
H). I have touched base with Anchor Pad this week. A few more
security devices have been installed in E40, E53, Bldg 9, and
bldg 66.
I). Have attended our weekly support meeting.
J). JJmorey and myself have also worked closely with DEC on many
outstanding hardware problems.
K). JJmorey and I have been keeping up with, and on top of the
active notes in hotline.
L). JJmorey and myself have placed several service calls this week
on down hardware.
M). We have both tracked many outstanding hotline notes through
CHAMP.
N). We have both Titled,Moved,Removed, and Compressed many hotline
notes.
3. The problem areas/issues for this week would be as follows:
A). Food in the Clusters still stands as a problem. Larry Koolkin
is addressing this issue. I have met with Larry this week to
discuss this on going problem.
B). Public Cluster Print Servers still remain a problem. The E51
print server was found halted twice this week. Hopefully, this
issue will be addressed, and these servers moved to a safe
area away from the user community.
C). Theft is up around the institute, as well as suspicious
people spotted entering, and leaving some of the public
cluster areas. JJmorey and I are on top of this issue.
4. My objectives for next week are to keep on top of all action
items in hotline, and attend our weekly support meeting. Schedule
and coordinate with Anchor Pad, regarding the securing of more
hardware. Stay in contact with Physical PLant, and Campus Police
on various issues. Keep my supervisor well up to date on all
nightly activity.
