Prof. Mills,
We've been receiving reports that Macs in 2-032 have been left running
the Japanese version of the system software. *PLEASE* remind your
instructors and students that they absolutely *MUST* restore the
machines to their usual system 7 configuration when they are finished
in the room. It is extremely confusing for other users of the room,
and our cluster maintenance staff, to have machines running in
Japanese with no way to figure out how to restore the Mac (they have
no way of reading any of the menus or dialog boxes to understand what
is going on). We have a very limited staff available to devote to
going to the room to fix these problems. Since this room is the only
public Macintosh cluster on the entire campus, we have to ensure that
it remains useable for the entire community.
We appreciate your assistance in this matter.
