We are notifying you of power switching from a cable that
requires immediate
repairs. The purpose of this notification is to simply keep you
informed as you requested
during the town meetings held after the major power outage in March.
We anticipate no
power interruptions and nothing should be affected, nor should you see
any change in your
service. However, whenever there is power switching, there is always a
possibility of
unanticipated power interruptions.
The switching is scheduled for 3 pm this afternoon. A leak on
a new splice has
been discovered which must be repaired immediately. We will be
paralleling the buildings
and provide power to your buildings from an alternate source. This
notification is for your
information only. The buildings that are involved during this switch
include:
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 7A, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 18, 20, 24,
26, 31, 33, 34, 35, 36,
37, 38, 39, 50, 54, 56, 62, 64, 66, E1, E2, E3, E19 (5ESS tel. room),
N9, N10, 44, 45 and
48.
This switch is required to completely deenergize and isolate
the cable that needs to
be respliced. The first switch that successfully occurred at 12 noon
was to reduce the load
on the cable with the problem. As soon as the cable has been isolated,
we will begin
making the necessary repairs to replace it. When the repairs have been
made, the buildings
will need to be switched back to their original configuration. This
will occur tomorrow
morning at 7 am and should take approximately a half hour to complete
Will you please circulate this message within your departments
as you feel is
necessary. We thank you in advance for your help with this.
