I tried wiggling the cables (they were all tight) and banging on
the monitor case, but no sign of the reported flickering on BACHMAN.
Whatever problem it had, it has gone away, at least for a while.
A VS3100 (name unknown, but DEC serial number is AB93300Z8Z)
still appears to have the same problem it had last time -- a defective
system board. The symptom is that the screen never shows anything
except a collapsed raster, even though the monitor works fine when
reconnected to another system. DEC worked on it maybe a week ago and
got it working, but it failed again shortly afterwards.
