I just wanted to make sure you all knew that we have a Service Level
Agreement with ChemE where they maintain their own Ethernet wiring.
This includes the drops that supports their Athena workstations.
Athena users are supposed to contact the ChemE networking people so
they can check the network connection BEFORE reporting Athena problems
to hotline. This is our first such agreement and I know network
operations has already been awakened once in the middle of the night
on this one. (I can't say that this makes me want to enter into any
more of these agreements!)

I bring this to your attention because I noticed that that there still
seemed to be problems today. You may want to check back with Prof.
Rutledge and make sure that he understands this. He may want to talk
to Prof. Armstrong, who was the faculty member that we negotiated the
agreement with. I just don't want these network problems to reflect
negatively on DCNS or Athena!
