I just heard about this yesterday, but haven't had a chance to find
out what is wrong. Michael Barrow reported it, and said that he
couldn't telnet out of the machine. At face value it sounds like it
could simply be a case of needing to go into the control panel and
switch the networking over to Ethernet, but I would've expected
Michael to try something that obvious.
JJ: next time you are by the room, can you try poking around at
the machine and see if it is working ok? I'm swamped right now
with the beginning-of-semester course locker crunch, so I don't
know when I'll get a chance to get over there. The three obvious
things to check are (after rebooting the machine, just in case):
1) can you mount any remote Appleshare volumes?
2) can you use Mac IP to telnet anywhere?
3) is the Network Control panel set up properly?
Thanx.
