a number of machines in the electronic classroom have had their
root password changed. I don't know if this was part of the deal
with leaving the machines access_on or not.
It looks like the root password was changed on this machine on
6 December 93, just before 10am:
(m1-115-2-warlord) in /mit/warlord
Ready> ls -l /etc/passwd*
-rw-r--r-- 1 root 431 Dec 11 12:11 /etc/passwd
-rw-r--r-- 1 root 318 Dec 6 09:58 /etc/passwd.local
The lastlog of that time shows this:
