this machine will not complete its reboot sequence normally. Gives lots of
error messages saying something about being unable to create /dev/null ...
I tried to recreate /dev/null as it exists on other SUNs, a symlink to
../devices/pseudo/mm:null ... but this did not change the machine's
behaviour upon reboot.
