The network jam last night was pretty bad. I couldn't even do
a remote backup of a fileserver. The problem seems to be worse
in the backyard area, 9-514. I have tried shutting down machines
in an attempt to find a culprit but don't think I have found one.
In trying to track down our network problems (by myself), I have
noticed that the tranceiver lights on one of the units are not
behaving like the others. Can someone explain or give us a manual
regarding these Cabletron 10Base-T tranceiver units? What does
a healthy network look like on these things?
Specifically on one or more units:
LNK lights goes off intermittently (seems to be on continuously on
others).
CLN light goes on occasionally. Its red and I assume its bad
(i.e. collisions or something).
I'd like to hear from someone soon. Or is the mail slow in getting
out to the network guys too?
