If there is a different hotline-like mailing list for the mac cluster, please
forward this note.
I'm here with Mike Shiffer, a DUSP guy giving a class in Hypercard, and I
thought I'd let you folks know about the following problems in the lab.
- m2-032-6 is sitting with a question mark floppy icon, looking
for a system file to boot from. The system on this mac needs to
be reinstalled. Someone has made a paper note that says this and
laid it on the keyboard, but there is no evidence that Athena
knows about it.
- m2-032-9 has no network connection. It does not see any file servers
or MITnet appletalk zones or anything. There is of course no network
icon in the control panels folder, so I couldn't debug anything at
all.
That's it for problems. There aren't enough chairs for more than one person to
sit around a machine, but it's probably impossible to provide adequately for
that without their being stolen.
Otherwise, nice job on a cluster that seems relatively bullet-proof as far as
public Mac-ness is concerned.
- Rob
