I have verified this problem as being true. I have troubleshooted the problem
and have determined that the TPT transceiver (10base-T) has an intermittent
problem. Professor Thorburn needed his workstation this evening, so I have
installed a quad canary box, (just temporary) until the TPT transceiver can
be replaced, so the professor could continue his work. I have the bad TPT
in my possesion, and will return it to E40. Can a CSR, please see if they
can locate a TPT and make the swap. Please hold on to my quad canary for me.
The professor is at X3-6950, or a person in 14N-409 can let you in.
The S/N of the TPT, with the intermittent problem is 9400487
