Hello,
The last few days we've had some problems with afs cloning
and vos releasing. We hope to have things resolved by the
end of the day today and things back to normal tomorrow.
How this affects users: the cloning creates the
user.<username>.backup volume. This is the volume
that is accessed via the "OldFiles" mount point in
each user homedir.
Under normal circumstances the user.<username>.backup
volume is created each day. At the present time the
user.<username>.backup volume is two days old. If
a user attempts to copy something from OldFiles they'll
discover they have a copy from Tuesday, not a copy from
yesterday.
How this affects developers: The vos releasing copies
a RW volume to a RO volume. With the exception of the
system.config volume, vos releasing hasn't completed
successfully in two days. This should only affect
developers or others with cloned RW volumes. If this
presents a problem and you need to have a volume
released please send mail to <afsreq>.
If you have any quesions about this please let me know.
Kim
