Type: Normal
Date: March 21, 2016
Day: Monday
Time: 11:00pm(Mon) - 7:00am(Tues)
Building(s): 18
Room(s): 4th & 5th Flrs
System: Normal Power Panels DPL-LAB-4SA, DPL-LAB-4NA, DPL-LAB-5SA, and DPL-LAB-5NA
Duration: 8 Hours
Reason:
We request a Building 18 4th and 5th floor normal power shutdown starting at 11 PM Monday March 21st until 7 AM Tuesday March 22nd, 2016. This is for Schneider Electric (Chris White 781-441-9485) to replace panel interiors and update panel indexes. This shutdown will affect all of the normal power on the 4th and 5th floors.
Any critical lab equipment (glove boxes, freezers, fridges, ovens) needs to be plugged in to the emergency power made available by the extension cords and power strips by the afternoon of Monday March 21st. Any equipment that needs temporary power for this shutdown and does not appear to have and extension cord already - please let me know. All unplugging/ plugging in of the equipment is to be done by the lab occupants. All computers and other electronic equipment should be powered down and unplugged prior to the shutdown to protect the equipment from a power surge. This is for the Bldg 18 Arc Flash Remediation Project by Schneider Electric (Chris White 1-781-441-9485). Drew Murphy (999-0180) and Mike DeRoche (617-866-0290) are the MIT project managers.
Effect:
Loss of normal building power for the duration of the shutdown.
