PM has been scheduled for BOTH the W91 chiller towers on Saturday,
10/6/90. The PM is estimated to take 8-10 hours (we really
believe it won't take that long though). This will definitely
require shutdowns of the Cray, MITVMA & MITVMC. Depending on
Physical Plant's requirements we will probably not have A/C
either. The lack of A/C will probably require shutdowns of
other equipment too (Vax's, peripherals, etc.). I think we
should all plan for a complete building shutdown just
to play it safe. Physical Plant will start at 8am. The Cray &
IBM mainframes should be shutdown by 8am.
I appreciate everyone's cooperation for this required maintenance.
