Savion dying miserably

I'm afraid I'm not sure what the source of the problem is, but I do know
I can't fix it.

I tried printing a file, in duplex mode, to savion. Naturally, it jammed.
When I fixed it, it then proceeded to print SIX copies of my file, before I
managed to dequeue it. When I issued the lprm command, it HANGED...even
though the job did, finally, get out of the queue.

Well, I couldn't imagine what caused this, so I tried a little experiment,
and sent another file to the printer...short, just one page, and again,
using duplex mode.

It proceeded to print out ELEVEN blank pages, and after EACH ONE, it
reported there was a "duplex jam". I looked: there wasn't. When I closed
the printer, it warmed up and was back on-line, reporting no problems, EACH
TIME. I got tired of this, so I dequeued the job...successfully, I thought:
lprm returned with no problem, and lpq shows nothing in the queue. However,
the printer is STILL printing out a blank page, then complaining of a jam,
and repeating infinitely.

I left it as is, and put a sign on it. I'm guessing the problem is with the
duplexer, since that's been known about for a while, but I've never seen it
get caught in a loop like this when trying to recover from it.

Sigh.
