Dear Colleagues,
As part of the Building 2 Chemistry project some of the windows have to be demolished and some walls opened. This demolition activity is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, June 12 and should be completed by June 20. It will generate noise throughout the day due to the chipping of concrete and brick,
This demolition activity requires the use of most of the stairs from the first floor through the third floor in the south stair of Building 4 where Building 4 meets Building 2. Therefore, these stairs will be tarped and almost entirely closed off; the community is encouraged to seek alternate ways to travel in the building. Please note that for safety reasons, there will be a small passable area on the stairs to be used as needed.
There will be signage in the area directing people to other stairways during the daytime working hours. Also signage will be placed in the Building 4 corridor encouraging the community to use the stair at the intersection at the north end of Building 4 and the intersection of Building 8.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Regards,
Ruth
