Date: Thu, 13 Sep 90 05:39:54 -0400 To: hotline@MIT.EDU Cc: epeisach@MIT.EDU From: Richard Basch <probe@MIT.EDU> My office, E40-318, seems to have had its venting shut-off during the evenings... this means that the temperature of the office during the morning is still in the high 80s. I have not checked the rest of E40's evening venting, but at this point, I can be sure my office is affected and it was not a one-night outage... 1) The temperature is above that of the maximum normal operating conditions of at least one of the machines in the office (VS-II's claim an 85 degree max.) I am sure that Field Service, if they had to deal with anything in here, would not appreciate the fact that the machines are being operated in conditions that they were not supposed to be. 2) This also has some very obvious effects on the clock stability of my RT, which happens to be the time server for the 18.72 subnet. 3) I came in at 5:30am and found the temperature/stuffiness intolerable (it is no longer even comfortably warm; it is a stuffy, hot, summer day). Please remedy this with Phys. Plant. Thanks, -Richard
