bolt-plate (chronically) sufficiently loose (and missing upper screw)
that it catches up on striker-plate, causing opening to be sort
of ... un-smooth, and ultimately damaging to both parts.

tightened lower screw, and hunted all-over in-and-out
for the missing one, but couldn't find it.

noticed that people leaving classes not (apparently) aware
of problem and door would not otherwise close completely, resulting
in a "door ajar" condition.

i undoubtedly have the correct screw in my hw collection, but
pp's locksmith probably has one on-board and she should probably
be called in to determine why the plate is loosening frequently;
perhaps it is being loosened on purpose? (just a thought)
