I've been working on the new M38's in building 20 these past few nights, and
have met with a few problems. First, from around 2:30 until roughly 6:00,
access to both aphrodite and cyrus has been all but nil, this for four
nights running. I tried pinging the two machines this morning at around
4:00, and found they each had about a 95% packet loss -- this seems much
higher than is healthy. Second, over the past few days, some of the mice
in the room have had seisures -- sometimes they simply don't work even before
logging in, but at other times (and this is worse) they stop working for
no apparent reason after you've logged in and while you're in the middle
of running some process. If the mouse is not in a window, this means that
logging out is impossible, as is saving any file etc. Finally, SUM3 is
not working at all and hasn't been for several weeks, perhaps since the
cluster was installed. If you need any more info in order to correct these
problems, please just let me know and I'll do what I can.
