Subject: maxine installs, etc.

After we talked to you this afternoon we tried to install another
maxine (on 18.71) and had similar problems to those we had with
ops-pmax/vongole. We are no longer convinced that it is a hardware
problem. Also note that after getting a new disk in his maxine
cfields had similar problems, although Craig eventually got his
machine installed, and we did not.

For the record the symptoms we observed whene trying to install the
new machine were the following:

we always saw the a+b+c sequence. the machine would then do one of
two things; it would either try to boot the hard disk, or just halt.
(I was playing with haltaction, and believe that determined the
behavior observed.

Darrin, this seems like there is some chance it is a problem with
bootp/tftp, what do you think. The other posibility is that it is
just related to network traffic.

Suggestions?

	Jonathon
