 hello Oki,
	I found the drive fairly clean, without a lot of dust on it.
	I used a can of compressed air to blow dust from the power
	supply and the tape drive. it looks clean now.

	You may want to contact Digital Equiptment and see if there
	is a head cleaning kit. Their # is 1-800-DIGITAL.
