charon disk hardware problem

This morning at 9:46 AM, charon crashed during the power hit. It did
not come up. The first time I brought it up in single user mode to fsck
it manually, fsck gave the error:
can't open character device /dev/rz0g
(rz0g is the /srvd partition)
We managed to boot it without the external disk that holds the local /srvd
and one of the the two original swap partitions. /srvd is pointing to
the public AFS system packs. If someone wants to take a look at the
disk drive, fine. It's currently shut off and disconnected. I have
removed the rz0 lines from /etc/fstab, so if charon is rebooted again,
it should be okay.
Uerf did not show anything interesting, although charon seems to be
getting a lot of "file: table is full" errors, like this one:
