Type: Normal
Date: August 15, 2012
Day: Wednesday
Time: 8:00am - 9:00am
Building(s): 26
Room(s): All
System: Normal Building Power and Lighting
Duration: 1 hour total (10 minutes per circuit breaker)
Reason:
Since testing the main electrical equipment in building 26 earlier this year the test reports came back to me and there are a bunch of circuit breakers that failed to meet the manufacturer's specifications on trip times. To streamline the process of replacing them I had five replacements made and I'd like to start scheduling the replacements five at a time. Doing it this way is the fastest solution to changing out the circuit breakers. This will have to happen several times over the next year because these are custom circuit breakers and even getting our hands on 5 to start the process was expensive and difficult.

Fortunately these shutdowns are all brief¬ - 10 minutes from beginning to end (for each circuit). Since there are five to do I'm requesting a one hour span to do the first five. It is impossible to know for sure what equipment will be affected so everyone must be prepared for a complete shutdown during the timeframe. Please have someone in your lab or office check your critical equipment to make sure it reset and came back on.
Shutdown # 1 - Wednesday, 8:00 to 9:00 AM, August 15, 2012.

Thank you for understanding and let me know any questions you might have.

Emergency Power has been taken care of so it will not be affected.
The duration is so short I don't see the need to any extension cords to be run.

Thank you,
Rich Lucas
