Type: Normal
Date: June 29, 2012
Day: Friday
Time: 4:00am - 8:00am
Building(s): E25
Room(s): All Rooms on West Side (all floors - room numbers greater than *29)
System: Normal Building Power (208V/120V)
Duration: 4 hours
Reason:
We request a bldg E25-208V/120V normal power normal bldg power shutdown affecting rooms with room numbers greater than X29 (E25-230 and above, 330 and above etc) for EG Sawyer to tie-in new 480V cabling from the electrical substation in E23-008E to the E25 west riser transformer (this is the replacement of the damaged cable) and as part of the E25-AQ's renovation project by Bond Brothers (Andy Cogliano 617-839-8965). Jon Himmel 2-2402 is the MIT project manager.
Note* during the last scheduled power shutdown in March the cables from the substation where run to an overhead can and made safe; the breaker was racked out. We will make connections in this can via compression fittings and when done, rack in the breaker. There is no need for a full substation shutdown this time, only the E25 west riser.
Effect:
Loss of building power, computers, telephones, and lighting for the duration of the shutdown.
