Type: Normal
Date: May 3, 2012
Day: Thursday
Time: 7:30am - 2:30pm
Building(s): W61
Room(s): All
System: Fire Alarm and *Intermittent Live Audible Testing
Duration: 7 hours
Reason:
We request bldg W61-all fire alarm shutdown from 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM on Thursday, May 3rd, 2012 for Simplex (Rich Perron 781-603-7799) to upgrade the W61 main f/a panel's executive chip software to a newer version and to conduct intermittent *live audible reacceptance testing of the building's fire alarm system between 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM* as required by NFPA - a 10% test. We will also be diagnosing a recurring ground fault from node 4 thought to be potentially related to a problem with an outdoor strobe arising during inclement weather and all as part of the W61 life-safety upgrade project. Keith Diggans 4-6174 is the MIT project manager.
Effect:
Loss of fire alarms for the duration of the shutdown and *intermittent live audible testing between 9:30am and 2:30pm.
