There are a number of old (i.e., pre-7.3 Athena) system pack volumes in the
cell which we would like to take out of service. It does not appear that any
of these are being used, but I would like to take them out of service in
such a way that it will be easy to put them back in service if we need to.
We plan to keep them on disk, for reference purposes. But, we would like
to deny access to them, to ensure that they are not in use.
Here is a list of the volumes, and a plan for taking them out of service.
If you have any suggestions or comments, please send them to me. I'll take
comments into consideration, then send mail letting you know when and how this
will be done.
Note that: 1) This does NOT affect 7.3, 7.4 or 7.5 system pack volumes
2) We do not expect that this will have any impact on users
Volumes

system.rt.srvd.70

system.vax.srvd.64

Plan
----
- At a scheduled time, set the top-level acl for these volumes so
that system:anyuser has no access
- After two weeks, if there have been no problems, remove the mount-
points for these volumes (and release the system volume)
If there are any problems, it is easy to reverse both of these steps.
