Hi John,
It sounds like we need to talk about departmental printing again,
particularly any unusual departmental printing methods, at one of
our print_eval meetings. At that meeting I think we should try and flush
out some of the issues, and then seek comments from a wider audience.
At tomorrow's meeting let's review future agendas and get a
departmental printserving discussion scheduled.
Sound ok?
Kim

Hello ACS and Kim,
Currently, all the Athena printers in building 66 are on two
Athena printservers. This includes the two in the 66-080 public cluster
and four belonging to Jeff Carbeck. Athena supports the VSII hardware
maintenance.
Question;
What will the client do for printserving when the VSII printservers
(66-080-p, 66-070-p) are no longer needed for OUR printing needs?
Reason for Question;
Cheme5 is having a intermittent problem that could take a good
deal of my time and cost $$ if we need to have telecoms reinstall
a new phone line.
If these printers are going to get new printserver technology
in the near future. Hotline and the client can live with this
intermittent (once a month) problem. If the current setup will
continue, so will I.
