Subject: Network outage on Saturday, 1/23 AM
Between 9 and 9:30 AM we (Network Operations Group) will be shutting
down the MITnet router in W91 so we can install a new FDDI interface.
This interface will, after a testing period, become our connection
directly to the NSFnet so as to shunt some of our external network
traffic off of the NEARnet core.
The actual outage should last no more than 15 minutes but during that
time, nearly all connectivity to and from MIT will be lost.
