AFS Server, Pollux Drive Problem (Summary: Drive 3 unmounted)

Pollux crashed tonight after showing numerous disk errors on
drive 3. These errors continued after the system was rebooted.
Richard Basch, Dave Krikorian and myself decided it was best to take
the drive offline.
At this time Pollux is up and running, but drive 3 is
unmounted. Because Pollux is primarily an AFS server, the AFS volumes
on that drive are not available. One of the volumes is
system.register.data. THIS IMPLIES THAT THE NEW USER REGISTRATION
SOFTWARE MAY FAIL TO WORK. If this is a major problem, it can be
worked around.
This problem should be called in for immediate service on
Monday.
For the record, the disk errors all looked like:
