aldus-huxley is currently getting no power to its CPU. There doesn't
seem to be anything too wierd going on with the power supply since the
monitor is still getting power.
Someone pried the front panel to stephen-king last night. It was
apparently cold-booted with changes to the software such that anyone
logged on to it would have root privileges to the machine. xhost was
also doing wierd things like giving xhost privileges to all when you
disabled xhost.
Both mahcines are currently powered down. stephen-king has its UTP
cable removed to keep people from using it (With only six color
workstations, the probability seems pretty high that someone would
power the machine back up. And, with the machine in such a state, it
also seems very likely that people's passwords could be stolen when
they login and taking the ethernet seems to be the best way to prevent
this.)
Mail has sent to athena-hotline. I'm also cc'ing this message to them.

Aldus-huxley is dead. It's power supply seems to work because the
monitor is still receiving power but the CPU is dead. It's a Vax3100.
Steven-King, Dec5000, had the front part of it's chasis popped and it
looks like someone is allowing remote logins from it. It was cold
booted. The operations system was slightly changed.
