Project Name: HR-Payroll Project

Report Date: Feb 28, 2002

Accomplishments in Feb
-----------------------------------------
- Pension Payroll implementation is in midst of capturing detailed
requirements as part of the Business Blueprint phase. Tax withholding
changes required to be completed prior to a conversion are approximately
2/3 done.
- Personnel Administration team is also in middle of their Business
Blueprint. Significant progress has been made but largest issue on how to
capture appointment data is not yet nailed down. Recent trip to Univ of
Tennessee provided the team with detail design regarding UT's approach to
supporting appointments.
- Organization & Position Management / Compensation team is configuring and
developing. Good progress on conversion loads. Visit to Univ of Tennessee
showed how they assign people to positions and which assignments are to
"pooled" positions.
- Pilot "roadshow" of the business process redesigns is nearly complete.
Approximately 8 pilots have occurred, each resulting in changes in the
presentation material.
- Planning for upcoming ESS activity in progress. Transactions in support
of benefit enrollments for new hires and telephone directory changes are
being evaluated for next 6 months.

Goals for March
-------------------------
- Data collection segment of business approval analysis completed.
- Appointment design options documented and preferred option chosen.

Issues
- Lincoln Lab direction in regard to HR-Payroll project. Large issue.
- Availability of a reference HR system to configurators.
