SAP Data Archiving - Round 2 Project

Accomplishments past period:
* Archived MM_ACCTIT in PS1. This object is now going to be included in the
quarterly
Production purges
* Identified FM data deletion programs as an alternative to the 'Modified' FM
archiving tool:
- RFFMDLFI: delete FM documents
- RFFMDLOI: delete FM commitments
* Met with Wayne Turner and Kyriakos Zavoleas to determine the next steps
regarding
FM data removal.
* Verified with FSS that the FM commitment removal program didn't affect
any existing
functionality (Pur. Req., CO commitments, ..)
* Successfully ran RFFMDLFI and RFFMDLOI in the archiving evaluation
environment (SF3)
for FY <= 2000
Goals for the coming period:
* Validate FM data removal in SF3
* Run FM data removal in SF2
* Establish timeline for FM data removal rollout based on Spring
integration testing
timeline.
* Schedule meeting with sponsors
* Participate to ASUG Higher-Ed. archiving conference call (2/15)
* Update website and project documentation.
SAP Production Subset Project
-----------------------------
Accomplishments past period:
* Decided to proceed with production subset to refresh the SAP development
system (SF2)
* Archived FI_DOCUMNT archiving object for FY <= 1999 as part of the SF2
refresh
process reclaiming ~20% of the database space.
* Agreed with Wayne Turner to consider the application of a production
subset for
upcoming system refreshes
Goals for the coming period:
* Review purchasing documents retention period with FSS customizing team.
* Continue MM_EKKO archiving exercise
* Archive as many archiving objects as possible in SF3.
The following objects are considered for the subset but can only be
archived once MM_EKKO has been archived:
. CO_COSTCTR - Cost center - all data (incl. center master)
. PS_PROJECT - Project system: Operative structures
. CO_ORDER - Orders with transaction data
. SD_VBAK - Sales documents
. CO_ITEM - CO line items
* Schedule meeting with sponsors
* Participate to ASUG Higher-Ed archiving Conference call (2/15)
* Update website and project documentation.
