Project Name: ECAT - New Vendors
Submitted by: Lorraine Rappaport
Report Date: February 12, 2002
Project URL: http://web.mit.edu/is/delivery/ecat

Accomplishments Past Period:

PC Connection/GovConnection*:
- Pilot testing is going well. We currently have about 40 or so community
testers participating. Very few problems or other difficulties have been
reported.
- PC Connection continued their work to move EDI invoicing to production.
Their target for completion is 2/25
- Refined rollout plan
- PC Connection's negotiations with Apple continue. Apple products are not
yet
available on the PC Connection catalog.
- Helped test upcoming changes and enhancements on PC Connection's QA site.

* The government and educational division of PC Connection is now known as
GovConnection. GovConnection is a subsidiary of PC Connection. Over time,
most references to the company, including the name on the catalog, will change
from PC Connection to GovConnection. This presents a bit of a marketing
challenge for us and them.

Dell:
- Refined the XML Order Request
- Continued work on the XML Order and connectivity to Dell for transmitting
the
PO
- Tested both pieces

Grainger:
- Grainger began development work for building our catalog and associated
integration components.
- Received sample OrderRequest documents

Goals for Next Period:

PC Connection/GovConnection:
- Finalize testing of EDI invoicing and PC Connection to move it to
production.
- Help finalize agreement between PC Connection and Apple and have Apple
products loaded in the catalog.
- Assuming the above two items are successful, put new documentation in place
and roll out community-wide.

Dell:
- Complete development work on the Order and OrderRequest
- Test, test, test.

Grainger:
- Begin testing and refining and additional testing of the integration
components.
