This Month's Accomplishments (January 2002)
- Updated Horde/IMP code base to IMP 3.0 on test server; this seems to
address a number of issues
- Worked on reported bugs / issues
- Met with Ginny Williams to discuss SWRT practices and how they may be
applied to this service release
- Held IAP quickstart / seminar
- Worked on stock answers and potential areas of change in the IS email pages
- Continued support of pilot through casetracker
Next Month's Plans (February 2002)
- Load updated IMP 3.0 onto production machine for early March changeover
- Try webmail with more platforms, including PDAs
- Continue / finish work on stock answers and potential areas of change in
the IS email pages
- Determine support schedule with HelpDesk & Accounts - going to aim for March
- Assist with adding WebMail mentions / demo into email-related quickstarts
- Submit issue / bug reports to HORDE / IMP developers
Issues / Observations
- Internet Explorer on Macintosh is troublesome - IE insists that you are
not establishing a secure connection with WebMail, while WebMail refuses to
allow unencrypted sessions.
- People generally like WebMail, including faculty! Nicest comment this
month from a professor: "thank you for developing webmail. it's a great
enhancement to quality of life at mit. so far, i've run into no problems
using it."
